Campus Landscape Project

Take a leisurely walk (at least 30 minutes to one hour) around the AHC campus. Think about everything you see along the way. Consider both the individual features of the campus and the overall impression it leaves. Consider both the built environment and the organic elements, the monumental as well as the mundane. Think also about the way people use the different spaces on campus. Make sure to explore parts of the campus that are outside your normal range of activities.

Write a brief essay (1 - 2 pages) in which you reflect on what you saw. Begin by outlining the route you took and any thoughts that came to mind along the way (include both a map and a narative). Then discuss your overall impressions. What aspects of the campus stood out in your mind? What did you like? What did you dislike? Why? How does it differ from other landscapes you've experienced? What do the campus and its component elements say about Allan Hancock College and the image it seeks to project? Make sure to include specific examples to bolster your discussion.
